First meeting of the ICUC Scientific Advisory Board

ICUC's Scientific Advisory Board, comprising of Professor George Rothschild, Dr Narayan G. Hegde, Hon. Professor Ruth Oniang'o, Mr John Palmer and Professor Frank Rijsberman, met for the first time on 23 May 2006 in Nariobi, Kenya. Using this first meeting to get to know each other, members brainstormed a variety of issues, such as achievements since the move of ICUC to Sri Lanka, regional and international collaborative arrangements, fundraising strategies and the composition of the Advisory Board. Commending the new ICUC team on achievements so far, SAB members gave ICUC full support in its consultative approach to the development of new strategies for research and development of underutilised plant species in Asia and Africa.
