Two interns join ICUC

Mr Boris Hillmann joined ICUC on 16 May 2006 for a period of five months with a stipend from the German Government. Boris is coming from Goettingen University, Germany, where he is studying towards an MSc in Applied Biology. In Sri Lanka, he will be carrying out his thesis field work on the movement of germplasm and availability of planting material from underutilised fruit trees.

Mr Ismael Barry joined on 18 May 2006 for a period of six months. Ismael has an MSc in Agricultural Economics from Maastricht University, The Netherlands. He will analyse value chains for underutilised fruit products in Sri Lanka in a collaborative project with the Royal Tropical Institute (KIT) in Amsterdam.
