ICUC's new Scientific Advisory Board constituted

It is with great pleasure that we can announce the appointment of ICUC's new Scientific Advisory Board.

The members of the Advisory Board will provide a valued source of credible advice on the research, development and training activities performed by ICUC. It also supports the Director of ICUC in fundraising activities and helps to raise the profile of ICUC. I hope that the appointed experts will provide a suitable mix of experience in research and development, developed and developing countries, CGIAR and non-CGIAR, 'old' and 'new' ICUC, Africa and Asia ...coupled with personal enthusiasm for ICUC's mandate and goals.

• Dr Narayan G. Hegde, President, BAIF Research and Development Foundation, Pune India  (starting 1 April 2006 )
• Mr John Palmer, Director, Tropical Forestry Services Ltd, Maidstone UK (starting 1 April 2006 )
• Professor Ruth Oniang'o, Director, Rural Outreach Programme, Nairobi Kenya and Member of Parliament, Government of Kenya (starting 1 June 2006 )
• Professor Frank Rijsberman, DG IWMI - ex officio
• Dr Hannah Jaenicke, Director ICUC - ex officio
